"Meeting with businesses in Varna and the region" with the support of UBB

„The future of tourism at the Black Sea coast“, „The sustainable development of businesses and the marine economy of Varna“ were only some of the topics, discussed by the attendees at the "Meeting with businesses in Varna and the region”.

The event was held at the INTERNATIONAL Hotel Casino & Tower Suites, Golden Sands and it gathered local government representatives and business people.

Ms. Desislava Simeonova, MB Member and Executive Director SME Banking at UBB, employees of UBB, UBB Interlease and DZI had an opportunity to meet and talk with clients and partners from Varna and the region.

Mr. Kiril Velichkov, PhD, - Director of European Projects and Financial Institutions at UBB - joined the meeting by sharing with the attendees his opinion on the role of banks in supporting the green transition.

There were also discussions on the opportunities for financing under EU projects, and Dr. Velichkov shared: „By 2027 Bulgaria is going to receive more than EUR 29 billion, 30% of those for sustainable development, while over the next 12 months projections are for six times larger intensity of the offered grant programmes, as compared to the average one over the last 7 years“.

The Capital Cities sequence is a discussion platform and comprises series of regional editions and meetings of businesses and local authorities. It is being realized with the partnership of UBB, while the next editions are planned for Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo, Ruse, Sofia Province and Plovdiv.
