Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria Launches Credits for Doctors

Raiffeisenbank Bulgaria, launched in February 2004 a new credit Medic for doctors, dentists and ophthalmologists.
The credit applicants can be both individuals and companies. The credits are available in Bulgarian levs, euro and U.S. dollars. The minimum sum is set at 2,000 euro ($2,400) and there is no ceiling. The investment credits mature in seven years and the credits which will be used as turnover capital - in three years. The grace period varies for each individual application. The interest varies between 7.6 pct and 15 pct depending on the maturity period, the currency and the collateral. The collaterals can be real estates, vehicles or equipment.
Raiffeisen is the fifth Bulgarian bank to offer credits to medics, after Bulbank, Banka DSK, Biochim and First Investment Bank (FIB) launched their preferential credit options. Raiffeisen also extends credits to local pharmacy chains.
Raiffeisenbank registered an 18 pct year-on-year rise in operating profit and a pre-tax profit of 3.2 mln Bulgarian levs ($2.1 mln/1.6 mln euro) for January 2004.
