28 October 2025
The tennis courts of the National Tennis Centre in Sofia gathered tennis lovers at the Sixth Edition of the UBB Tennis Tournament. One of the most awaited tennis contests for amateurs was held on Saturday, 25.10.2025, after having postponed its start twice, because of the bad weather. Thus, literally „between the raindrops“, within just a day, there were 81 matches held, which offered a lot of zest, dramatic twists, challenges and a lot of positive emotions on the courts and in the stands.
The contest with mixed doubles was won by Tsolo Tsvetkov and Gergana Nedina, who had ranked second the previous year. They won over Yulian Yordanov and Ralitsa Valchanova after a decisive tiebreak.
With males the title was won by the Petar Kolev - Mark Hadzhizhekov double, after their rivals Ivan Kanevchev and Yavor Rumenov had to withdraw due to trauma and were unable to repeat their strong performance from the previous rounds.
By tradition, the awards to the winners were presented by Peter Andronov, Chief Executive Officer of KBC Group’s International Markets Business Unit and Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of UBB and DZI and by Stefan Tsvetkov - President of the Bulgarian Tennis Federation. Chief referee of the tournament was Milena Kotseva, who ensured the flawless organization and fair run of all matches.
The first edition of the UBB tennis Tournament was held in 2018, as thanks to the perseverance and the professional organization during the years it has affirmed itself as the strongest, awaited and recognizable amateur tennis contests in Bulgaria. This tournament is part of the long-term policy of KBC Group for promoting a healthy way of living and continues to sustainably unite people sharing a common passion for this game – even at times when the weather is against them.
