UBB has made its mobile banking functionality accessible for teens aged 14 to 18 years

The UBB Mobile app is now accessible for teenagers, Bulgarian citizens, aged between 14 and 18 years, and holding accounts with UBB. The services, which young people will be able to use before their turning a lawful age, are: account balance inquiry, account and deposit movements’ inquiry; information about issued cards and the transactions with those; ePIN setting and change, 3D Secure activation; adding a card to a digital wallet; information about ATMs and UBB branches, etc. Teenagers will be able to also request the receipt of free-of charge PUSH Notifications for account movements or upon card payments, as well as personalize their experience in the app through options, such as dashboard arrangement, choice between a light or dark theme, etc.

„Providing teenagers with an opportunity to become acquainted with the Bank's digital channels as early as at this age is an important milestone in creating sustainable financial habits, enhancement of their financial literacy and culture, which will be extremely beneficial to them after their becoming of lawful age. This is a natural step is the process of digitalizing the UBB services and provides an opportunity for more and more individuals to have access to those“, shared Tatyana Ivanova, Executive Director Digitalization, Data and Operations and Innovation Leader of KBC Group in Bulgaria.

In order to be granted access to the Bank’s digital channels, a minor needs to visit a UBB branch together with a parent or guardian of his/hers and sign an Agreement for Online Banking and a Registration Card. Required documents, which presentation is mandatory: the child’s Certificate of Birth, his/her identity document and those of the parent/guardian and a Certificate of Guardianship.

After their turning a lawful age young people will have full access to all the functionalities in the digital channels of UBB, among which blink P2P Transfer to Mobile Number, the InResto investment product, conclusion of insurance policies and others.

Along with that they will be able to take advantage of the dedicated Full Access Youth & Students Package, intended for customers aged from 18 to 25 years and including: a current account in Bulgarian leva (BGN) without a fee for opening and monthly maintenance; a debit card of the Mastercard brand with two designs to choose from; withdrawals with the debit card at more than 1000 ATMs of UBB free of charge; discounts with Mastercard Bright Club at more than 100 commercial locations in Bulgaria – clubs, cafeterias, shops, online sites and others.
